My name is Andy Walker. I write songs under the pseudonym The Loyal Trooper. The Loyal Trooper is a tiny public house in the village in Sheffield where I grew up and was the scene of many of my triumphs and defeats through my adolescence. It seemed an apt name when thinking of something that encapsulates writing songs about my life. That and they do a damn fine pint of Guinness.
I've been writing, recording and touring under this moniker since August 2006 and since then I've played all over the country with various great bands, some okay bands and some sodding dreadful one's. In August 2007 my '4 Quid With Flyer EP' was released and gained lots of lovely press on the interweb and also some airplay on XFM via John Kennedy and Jon Hillcock. I'm currently recording some new songs that will be available in November 2008 and writing my debut album which I will release in the summer next year.
